We're Hiring: Worship Pastor / Worship Director

First Baptist Church – Fort Gibson, Oklahoma
First Baptist Church of Fort Gibson is prayerfully seeking a Worship Pastor or Worship Director to join our team. We are a church that exists to prioritize Christ’s mission by gathering to honor the Father, living as disciples of the Son, and resting in the presence of the Holy Spirit.
This is not a one-size-fits-all role. We’re looking for a leader with a heart for Jesus, a love for people, and a desire to build something meaningful. Yes, you’ll lead worship—but you’ll also help shape your role around your other God-given gifts and passions.

What We’re Looking For
  • A Christ-centered worship leader who is spiritually mature, biblically grounded, and emotionally healthy
  • A team builder who can shepherd, equip, and grow volunteers of all ages
  • A creative leader who can plan worship experiences that are engaging, God-honoring, and accessible to all generations
  • A flexible teammate whose secondary responsibilities—whether in youth, tech, communications, or something else—match their strengths and passions
  • Someone who fits our church culture: authentic, gospel-focused, a team player, and committed to making disciples. Someone who takes the gospel seriously but doesn’t take themselves too seriously.
Role Highlights
  • Primary Role: Lead and oversee the worship ministry (planning, rehearsals, Sunday services, special events).
  • Secondary/Tertiary Roles: Tailored to the applicant—may include youth ministry, communications, tech/media, pastoral care, preaching/teaching, administration, discipleship, or evangelism.
  • Employment Type: Full-time preferred, but part-time options available depending on fit and need.
  • Accountability: Reports to the Senior Pastor and works in partnership with staff and lay leaders.
Compensation: Salary will be based on the final job description and the applicant's experience.
Next Steps
1. Create Your Own Job Description
  • Use the framework above to describe your primary, secondary, and (if applicable) tertiary roles. At FBC, all full-time staff are expected to wear multiple hats—we want to know which “hats” you would be excited to wear!
  • Note: For part-time applicants, secondary and tertiary roles are not required.
  • Please send your job description as a Microsoft Word document so we can easily make edits as needed.
2. Create Your Resume
  • Show us your relevant experience, skills, and qualifications for the roles you’ve included in your job description.
  • Please send your resume as a PDF.
3. Create an Introduction Video
  • In place of a cover letter, we’re asking for a brief video introduction. Please include the following:
  • Length: 3–5 minutes
  • Format: .mp4
  • Content:
    • Introduce yourself and your family
    • Share your heart for Jesus
    • Share your heart for worship
    • Tell us why you’re interested in exploring a role at FBC Fort Gibson
4. Email Us
  • Send your job description, resume, and introduction video to apply@fbcftg.org
5. Join Us in Prayer
  • More than filling a position, we’re seeking God’s will. We are praying that He will lead the right person—someone with a deep love for God and people—to join us in this season of ministry.
Final Thoughts
Leading worship, designing graphics, teaching, etc.—none of these matter without a heart surrendered to Christ. We believe the Lord will call someone who reflects the greatest commandments: to love God and love your neighbor.
